November Reading Recs

Just because I love trashy tv doesn’t mean that I don’t love books. Starting this month, I will share some of my recommended reading. Can you figure out which one I had to read for class? Enjoy!

In honor of Veteran’s Day, I suggest Veterans Voices: Remarkable Stories of Heroism, Sacrifice, and Honor by Robert H. Miller and Andrew Wakeford: This deeply moving book is filled with photographs and poignant stories that show the courage, heroics, and sacrifice of U.S. soldiers and veterans.

American Heiress, by Jeffrey Toobin: This book tells the story of heiress Patty Hearst’s kidnapping by the SLA (Symbionese Liberation Army) and rapid brainwashing into a gun-wielding “revolutionary” named Tania.

Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher: This book is filled with juicy tidbits, drug addiction, drinking, mental health issues, and her old love Cocaine. She doesn’t shy from being blunt and open.

The Girl in the Spider’s Web: A Lisbeth Salander novel, continuing Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Series by David Lagercrantz: This book is a continuation of the Millenium Series deals with Lisbeth and Blomkvist hunting down and vice versa the Spider Society, a group of hackers responsible for crimes. Are they part of the nefarious NSA plan? Find out and read this book!

Until next time,
